Ordering & Prescriptions
How do I place an order?
Choose your frame, select your lens options, upload or enter your prescription, and checkout. Once your order is placed, our team begins crafting your glasses right away.
Do I need a prescription to order?
Yes, a valid eyeglass prescription is required for prescription lenses. You can still order non-prescription or blue-light glasses without one.
How do I send you my prescription?
You can upload it during checkout or email it to us after your order is submitted. A clear photo works just fine.
What if my prescription is expired or I don’t have it?
For your safety, we cannot make glasses from expired prescriptions. Please contact your eye doctor for an updated copy.
Can I reorder a pair I previously purchased from SpecsForVets?
Absolutely. Log into your account or reach out to us – we can remake your previous order quickly.
Can I filter by temple size?
Yes
Can I filter by material?
Yes
Lens Options
What lenses does SpecsForVets offer?
Single vision, bifocal, progressives, readers, distance-only, computer lenses, and specialty lenses.
Do you offer blue-light filtering lenses?
Yes. You can add blue-light protection to any prescription or non-prescription order.
Can I add anti-reflective or scratch-resistant coatings?
Yes. Most lenses include scratch resistance, and anti-reflective coatings can be added or are included depending on the lens package.
Do you offer transitions/photochromic lenses?
Yes, our photochromic lenses darken outdoors and stay clear indoors.
What lens material should I choose?
Polycarbonate is lightweight and impact-resistant. High-index lenses are thinner for stronger prescriptions. For prescriptions above ±3.00, we recommend high-index.
What is the difference between progressive and transition lenses?
A progressive lens is a no line bifocal with reading, intermediate and distance. Transition lenses are lenses that are clear indoors and darken when you walk outside.
